In over twenty years of studying and working from animals, Robin Caiger-Smith has developed a remarkable ability to capture their character and nature. In her bronze sculpture and stone carvings, Robin identifies intimate moments. Her keen eye, combined with an intuitive understanding of animal behaviour translates into works of art the wonder and delight she feels for the animal kingdom. This is what she seeks to do. Robin works most often by commission, striving to understand the role of the sculpture in the life of the acquirer with her characteristic care and thoughtfulness. As well as her African and European animal works, Robin undertakes equine, canine and human portraits. |
